Chancellor's farewell and open house

Chancellor had his farewell at church today.  I was a bit nervous because he wrote it all without any help or editing.  Turned out he did an awesome job.  We were so proud of him.  We know he will be a great missionary and we are so excited for him!

Later that night we had an open house for Chancellor at John and Annie Blatter's house.  We had an Idaho potato bar to celebrate his mission state.  It was a great night with lots of friends stopping by to give him their love and support.  We are so grateful for having such great friends in our life!

I couldn't ask for a better birthday!  Our friends are the best!

A change to mission call

On June 2 our Bishop took us into his office and read us this letter he received.

"Elder Chancellor Slavens was assigned to the Colorado Fort Collins, Spanish Speaking mission.  But due to some need changes for the Spanish speakers in that mission and others, the Brethren would like to reassign Elder Slavens to a new mission.  They will take his recommendation into a meeting with a member of the Twelve tomorrow morning to be reassigned.  He will receive a new call letter and packet in the mail sometime next week.

Please feel free to notify him of this upcoming change so he can prepare to receive that new assignment."

Crazy!  Now we wait for a 2nd mission call!!!
