 I would like to thank Fetty Wap for my intro to my email. Thanks for all you do for me F.W. 

This was quite the week. A lot occurred and some sad times but some happy. So Elder Story and I are trying to learn this area and understand it and find people to teach. Like I said last week we have 2 people on date for baptism but here is sad part. Dave is very busy with work so he asked to push back his baptism till around January. We are seeing what we can do so that is very sad. But Tom is a good monster. He is the coolest guy ever. We got to go to his house 2 times this week and have a lesson and eat good ol chicken. He is so ready like dang. He will be baptized November 14th and it'll be the best day ever. I haven't been apart of all of his teaching but still I am excited for him. 

Alright besides that we made this video this week for Facebook. We did like the kid History thing for the story of Samuel the Lamanite. That was my idea of course but my skin and hair didn't match the Samuel description so Elder Story took the lead. Rude but I am happy for him. 

So now actually cool thing we are knocking on members doors and introducing ourselves and dropping off cute pictures of us. We can knock on members doors and people in our area book that were talked to before but also we still like 30 minutes away so we only do when we are in our area and have to borrow bikes from other Elder cause we don't got those. cool.

Finally this week some missionaries learned they get to go to their original assignments and I actually got mad and was like ok what about me, but then I realized God needs me here for some reason. Idk what it is but I've been here 7 months and may be here 2 years who knows. I need to he here and live it up. Cute of me right. Well I had a great week hope you did too. Love you bruv. Bye friend

The story of Slay and Story

Welcome to this weeks edition of The story of Slay and Story. We are companions and we are cool guys. If you don't believe me just ask me and I will tell you that we are cool. I make that promise any time you ask I will tell you the truth, we are in fact cool. 

Well now that I just bragged about myself I will continue to talk about myself and what I did this week. It was quite a wonderful week. Since we are both new to this area we had to start from nothing and learn as we went. We have 2 people on date to be baptized in November which is amazing amazing. Their names are Tom and Dave. We are going to keep teaching them and help them prepare for the big day!!! Good stuff Elder Slay. 

We have been able to have some lessons and meet new members and it's been super duper. People always say names and I'm like yeah idk anyone so that's fun. Elder Story is still learning and growing. The lessons are more me talking but he is learning and it's getting so good. I love Story lots lots. We also had to give talks on Sunday so that was quite a good way to introduce ourselves. I killed it.

That's about it. We still live far away from everything and our house is so fun. Amazing missionaries and such a party, but also we love the Lord. Don't worry. I've learned a lot this week and missions are cool. Have a good week. Bye friends and family hope you enjoyed.

So one day we had a lesson and we left and since we don't got a car we walked around then realized we both had to pee so we did as this says and peed on trees.

Oh yeah so we went to a members house and they had this little pig running around and it was like the size of a potato. They said it was 7 days old and already potty trained. Cool.

Welcome to another email: Alterations Edition

Yes welcome to my store. I help to do alteration to clothes. Yes pants, shirts, shoes. I will alter for you. Cheap price. Good for you.

But yes a lot of changes this week. So the beginning of the week I was with Elders Pierson and Palazzolo. We had good times. We are good buds. We were able to have a lot of lessons and dinners this week. It was fun. We also were able to finally go back to church for the first time. Basically every other area in this mission was going back to church for months besides ours. Very odd. But we went back and it was so so nice. We got to meet with both of our 2 wards and it was weird wearing masks and staring at only people's eyes not seeing a mouth but it was good stuff. I loved it lotsๆๆ aka lots lots lots

Ok here is where week was wack times. So Tuesday I was taking a nap and Palazzolo  taps me and says, "Hey President is calling" I had to wake up and get phone and he said, "Hello Elder Slavens do you want to train a new missionary." I replied, "Yes I would love to" "Thank you my friend”. It was a good conversation. I of course went back to bed after that. But now I am here and I am training a new missionary. I got him and he is a cool kid. His name is Elder Story and he is from Eagle Mountain Utah and was originally called to serve in Sydney,  Australlia. G'day mate. He is very cool and we are going to have good times together. 

I also got transferred and am not in San Tan. It isn't too far from Queen Creek but I am 25 minutes away from my area and where I am serving. Also I don't have a car so thats rough idk what we gonna do. Rip slay and story. Wish us luck. So now I'm training and we are new to area and its gonna be fun.

Hey it's me. I am writing this email in a house with bad phone service. at least it's not as hot in Arizona now.

not gonna lie I got good pictures this week.

This is Elder Erb and I riding our jet ski into the ocean of Arizona. The water is a little rough but don't worry, we managed. 

Welcome to service with us. We love helping others and love doing our part to keep the world clean. Get these weeds out of here. 

One day we were getting gas when I guy came up to us and just threw $120 in the car and ran away. We spent it all that day on 5 Guys and shaved ice. It was very very well spent if you ask me. 

This was for a Facebook post but it is just so adorable how could I not show this to you. Right?

Big 200 in that quarantine thing

Wow what an interesting week. Oh wait I told you last week I got a new companion. I guess it wasn't that interesting but it was a pretty good week not going to lie. I mean we had general conference so that was amazing. Jeez conference was good this year. It's like they are servants of the Lord speaking to us telling us things we need to hear. Cool. 

Before I begin my email Jackson my brother wrote me these lines to a rap. Here you go:

I wanna go to Thailand and eat all of that rice and then preach the people of our savior Jesus Christ.

It is true I want to go to Thailand and eat rice. One day. Nobody tells me anything but it's all good. 

This week was a big week. We hit 200 days inside. That is quite a long time. We didn't really have a party or anything but still it was wacky. Like 200 days. ahh. That means I have been in this mission 201 days. It only feels like last month I got here so that feels weird to me. Also this week we did like a ton of service projects. We got to paint a ton and I love painting, but when you do service projects you are dead tired so I was also very tired this week. 

Now general conference time. So conference was very good. We got to go to a church building with 8 Elders and watch on a tv. It was so so good. Like every single talk was so perfect and specific for today. If you didn't watch general conference I suggest you do. It helped me a lot. I really learned we are all Children of God, and God will help us in our struggles and hard times. That was good to hear. I also loved the talk from Kelly Johnson about the microwave. He was a mission president in Thailand so that's cool. I was like, "Wow I will go there one day". Nice. 

Well not going to lie that's about it. Not much happened this week and I don't know what to say besides I still miss Spongebob and I like normal clothes a lot. White shirts are cool and all but I love swim suits. Have a good week.

I am in a Boy Band

Good Evening one again this fine week. My name is Elder Slavens and this is my weekly email. If you are not suppose to be here, sorry but please read I've heard my emails are fun. Enjoy whether you know me or not. 

Alright so first I have a challenge for the youth or like teens or adults. Whoever you are, if you have Snapchat and have me added send me something. If not my snapchat is trizzle3634 I think. So I can't see what you send me now and won't for awhile, but in like 15 months or whatever it is, that stuff you send will be so cool. Thanks. This was a thought I had one night while sleeping. Wow how cool.

Well this was an exciting week. One night Elder Pierson and I were sitting and we got a call. They said, "Hey so you need to be at the mission office at 4:45 to pick up your new companion". Huh? Well it turns out we are now in a trio and have a new companion. His name is Elder Palazzolo he is from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He was serving in the Philippines but was sent home because of Covid and was there for 7 months before coming here. Good kid. So we had to learn to do everything in a trio again and that's always fun. 

So we have had good times together already. Big parties good missionaries. Also I got a guitar last week and Pierson, another Elder I and play together and I guess we are writing songs. Idk it's exciting stuff. Lots of late night jam sessions you know. Some other Elders had dinner at someone's house with Corona so they are mega quarantined and can't open their door or anything so we are going to write a song about the tragedy it is to be locked up once again. 

So it has been a big week as you have read. Lessons, dinners, guitars, companions, and I desperately want a foot massage. Yeah good stuff. Hope you have a good guitar filled week this week. Bye now.

My challenge is to read the Restoration Proclamation this week. It is very good. I learn every time I read it.

A member in my ward dropped off dinner and he served in Thailand long ago and I texted him in Thai.  He responded in english but still cool. 

We took a little 20 minute road trip to the temple. We walked around, we sat, we talked. It was the best of times. 

Alrighty so we were having a ward Zoom meeting when our screen froze and my Bishop sat like this for a while. I had to capture the moment. Flawless. 

Car selfies are the best selfies. If you happen to be in Queen Creek Arizona and see us drive by. Say hi please. 

We did a service and this was another good car selfie driving to get soda.

Thank you. I would like to thank you friends, family, pets, and mission president for helping me get to where I am. I love rapping and I couldn't have gotten here without those people in my life. 

This week has been quite interesting. Elders are getting addicted to memes, some people are looking at Anti stuff. It's fun stuff out here in Gilbert Arizona. So yeah there are tons of meme pages on facebook and my mission president hates those. He has told us many times they are apostate and shouldn't be watched. It's so cool. I was on them and was confused by them because I’m really not a meme guy.  But when Pres said, “you gotta leave” I dipped out. Good job Slay. Also there are Elders lookin at anti church material and it's getting pretty exciting. People in my area have to help the Elders and he has been talking to the mission president and lied about it. Dang it's crazy stuff. But don't worry he is getting it worked out and man Jesus loves us so much. He forgives us for everything. What a nice guy.

I spent lots of money this week. I got taco bell, bought a guitar cause why not, chick fil a, frozen fruit. You know just the necessities. At least I am not buying 3 pokeballs a week like some Elders in my house. No joke his desk is full of Pokemon. I'm like what. Yeah pretty cool.

So yeah that's it. I'm still practicing Thai, I am still in Queen Creek, I am still alive. The End.

We were helping a member move dirt in his backyard then I looked at this boat and said,

 "Wait does your boat said Naughty Boy". If I were to sail a boat it would definitely be something this cool. The Naughty Boy dang. 

I was on a walk and found this lizard or gecko or whatever it was. I held it for like 25 minutes 

and my hand got sweaty. 

Some member dropped us off this legit just cheese meal. This was the day we went to 

Chick fil a. I was not in the mood of eating only cheese. 

Meet Elder Perry. He is going home in about 3 weeks. He loves Dungeons and Dragons. Every day I make hypothetical situations and ask what spells to use. I am good at this game, not good at memes, but yes good at D&D.

There is your language study of the day. You are welcome. I will just say it. I love being a missionary. I feel like every missionaries weekly letter says that but that is cause it is true. Being a missionary is quite fun. Sure it can be hard and being inside gets boring but it is worth it. That's for sure. In the latest news I still have no clue when or if I am going to Thailand but I hope so. I love that place. Elephants here I come... someday. Besides that I am still here loving hot, dry, only rained 2 times since I've been here Arizona.

I just thought about power rangers this week and dang those guys are so cool. I like the red and green guys most. It's like Christmas but in the shape of heroes. So cool!

So like not much happened this week so that is exciting. I feel like I say that a lot but most weeks are quite similar to every other week. Amazing lessons, dinners, missionary bonding. Oh well I am in the same area so that is cool. Also our stake had 15 wards in it so it split and now I am in the Queen Creek Herriage Stake. Dang so much flames.

So it was Elder Piersons birthday this week. He is 20 so he is officially older than me. Now I look so weak. Ugh. 

Alright so I learned the coolest party trick ever. It is titled push a noodle in your nose sniff very hard, cough and allow it to come our of your mouth. Try it out it's fun!
